The day we fell in love with Valcolombe…
The first time I and my wife Marie Hélène saw Domaine Valcolombe, we just fell for it! Valcolombe … an enchanting place suffused with beauty, harmony and wellbeing and producing elegant, engaging fine wines. Vineyards spread out across a generous terroir surrounded by cypress and olive trees, guarded by an old Provençal country house.
There, under the vaults of a modern wine cellar, wines that are among France’s top award-winners mature in silence in their precious oak barrels while the youngest wines wait to be tasted.
Our first love of great wines dates back a long way: the Bordeaux chateaus, the northern plains, a 15-year connection with a leading champagne firm in Reims, encounters with exotic wine terroirs in Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere.
Then I came back to my roots in the area that inspired my maternal grandfather Charles Camoin with his paintings. Back also to the history of my father’s family who left their mark on Saint-Tropez, particularly with the Musée de l’Annonciade.
We are overjoyed to take over the torch from Marie-Pascale and Pierre Leonetti, and to be working with renowned agronomist and œnologist Philippe Crocé-Spinelli. We shall be making every effort to enhance the estate and pursue the endless quest for excellence in its wines.
We hope you will enjoy discovering Valcolombe as you browse our website. We hope it will persuade you to visit the estate in person – and fall under its spell, as we have.
